Collapsible Steering Column Deployment Control

Check these first

• An open in the collapsible steering column squib circuit
• A short to ground on the steering column wiring
• Damage at the steering column connector or clock spring
• A failed collapsible steering column deployment module
• Internal fault in the airbag control module column output

What to do next

1. Inspect the collapsible steering column squib wiring for opens and shorts
2. Check the steering column connector and clock spring for damage
3. Measure column squib resistance through the clock spring
4. Replace the clock spring if its resistance is out of range
5. Replace the column deployment module if the circuit tests open
6. Clear the code and retest
