What are the common causes of P0087?

Check fuel pressure with a gauge at the rail and at idle vs load. Inspect fuel filter and lines for restrictions or leaks. Test the fuel pump delivery rate and pressure. Check the low-pressure and high-pressure sides on DI engines. Replace the failing pump, regulator, or filter and re-verify pressure.
