• A failed ignition coil
• An open in the coil primary circuit
• An open in the coil secondary circuit
• Corrosion at the coil connector
• A faulty ignition module or ECM

What to do next

1. Read coil primary and secondary circuits on a scan tool
2. Inspect the coil and connector for corrosion or damage
3. Test the coil primary and secondary resistance
4. Check the ignition module and coil wiring
5. Replace the ignition coil if the circuit is open
6. Clear the code and retest
