Check these first

• A weak crankcase breather heater
• A corroded connection at the breather heater
• Sludge clogging the breather system
• Low battery voltage during heater duty
• A PCM that commands the heater wrong

What to do next

1. Command the breather heater on with a scan tool
2. Measure the heater current draw
3. Check battery voltage under load
4. Inspect the breather hoses for sludge
5. Replace the breather heater if it draws too little
6. Clear the code and retest
