Check these first

• A failed park lock actuator or shift motor
• An open or short in the park engagement circuit
• A binding or damaged park pawl mechanism
• A fault in the transmission control module

What to do next

1. Inspect the park actuator connector and wiring
2. Command park engagement with a scan tool and listen for the actuator
3. Check the park engagement circuit for opens and shorts
4. Check for mechanical binding in the park pawl
5. Repair the actuator or mechanism after testing
6. Clear the code and retest
