• A clutch pack holding a gear applied
• A shift solenoid stuck on
• A valve body fault holding a gear
• Low or degraded transmission fluid
• A TCM calibration fault

What to do next

1. Read the commanded and actual gear on a scan tool
2. Command a release and watch the shift
3. Check the fluid level and condition
4. Test the shift solenoids
5. Repair the apply circuit if the gear stays engaged
6. Clear the code and retest
