Drive Motor A Phase W Current High

Check these first

• A short circuit in the W phase winding of drive motor A
• A short to ground or phase to phase in the W phase cable
• Insulation breakdown inside drive motor A
• A stuck or failed inverter transistor on the W phase
• Overheating that has damaged the W phase insulation

What to do next

1. Inspect the W phase cable for chafing or shorts
2. Test the W phase winding to ground with a megohmmeter
3. Compare W phase current with U and V under load
4. Check motor A cooling for restriction or fan failure
5. Replace the inverter if the W phase transistor is shorted
6. Clear the code and retest
