• An S circuit tap reading below the surrounding cell voltages
• High resistance in the S sense lead
• A corroded pin in the S circuit connector
• A weak cell at the S voltage tap
• A sense module input fault on the S channel

What to do next

1. Read the S circuit voltage on a scan tool
2. Compare the S tap reading to its neighbors
3. Inspect the S sense lead and connector for corrosion
4. Measure resistance through the S circuit
5. Replace the sense module if the S channel reads low
6. Clear the code and retest
