Fuel Control System B Too Rich at Idle Bank 1

Check these first

• Leaking or carbon-fouled injectors on bank 1 dribbling fuel at idle
• Fuel pressure stuck high from a failed regulator feeding bank 1
• A biased or contaminated upstream oxygen sensor on bank 1 reading lean
• A purge valve stuck open pulling raw fuel vapor into the intake
• Fuel washed past the rings, raising the oil level and fuel smell

What to do next

1. Read bank 1 fuel trims and the upstream oxygen sensor at idle
2. Check fuel pressure against spec at idle and with the vacuum line off
3. Inspect the bank 1 injectors for leaks and balance the flow
4. Command the purge valve closed and watch the trims react
5. Check the engine oil for a fuel smell or a rising level
6. Clear the code and retest
