Check these first

• The bus E (+) and bus E (-) wires pinched together
• Insulation worn through where the bus E lines share a loom
• Solder or corrosion bridging bus E (+) to bus E (-)
• A module internally shorting bus E (+) to bus E (-)

What to do next

1. Read stored codes on every module that shares bus E
2. Disconnect modules on bus E one at a time and watch for the short to clear
3. Ohm between bus E (+) and bus E (-) with the battery disconnected
4. Repair the pinched or chafed section where the bus E lines touch
5. Replace the module that clears the short when disconnected
6. Clear the code and retest
