Software Incompatibility With Steering Column Control Module

Where it lives

For U0329, the part to look at first is the module named here.

Check these first

• Software in the Steering Column Control Module that does not match the rest of the vehicle
• The Steering Column Control Module replaced without programming to the vehicle
• Corrupted or outdated calibration in the Steering Column Control Module
• A module programming step that did not complete

What to do next

1. Read stored codes on every module and note the mismatched part numbers
2. Record the software and calibration part numbers in the Steering Column Control Module
3. Reprogram the Steering Column Control Module with the latest calibration for the vehicle
4. Check for a service bulletin that covers the Steering Column Control Module software
5. Replace the Steering Column Control Module if programming will not complete
6. Clear the code and retest
