Invalid Data Received

Check these first

• Corrupted data on the network bus reaching the ECM
• A module sending messages the ECM cannot accept
• A loose or corroded connector on the data bus
• Low voltage causing garbled messages on the bus

What to do next

1. Read stored codes on every module on the network
2. Check for a second code that names the offending module
3. Inspect the data bus connectors for corrosion or a poor fit
4. Check battery voltage and charging under load
5. Replace the module that keeps sending invalid data
6. Clear the code and retest
