Check these first

• Boost leak in intercooler piping or hoses
• Wastegate stuck open
• Failing or bypassing blow-off/bypass valve
• Restricted intake or exhaust
• Weak or failed turbocharger

What to do next

1. Check all charge pipes and intercooler connections for leaks
2. Watch commanded vs actual boost on a scan tool
3. Smoke or pressure test the boost system
4. Test the wastegate actuator and boost solenoid
5. Inspect the turbo for shaft play or damage, replacing if worn
