Check these first

• An R circuit tap reading below the surrounding cell voltages
• High resistance in the R sense lead or connection
• A corroded pin in the R circuit connector
• A weak cell at the R voltage tap
• A sense module input fault on the R channel

What to do next

1. Read the R circuit voltage on a scan tool
2. Compare the R tap reading to its neighbors
3. Inspect the R sense lead and connector for corrosion
4. Measure resistance through the R circuit
5. Replace the sense module if the R channel reads low
6. Clear the code and retest
