• An X circuit tap reading below the surrounding cell voltages
• High resistance in the X sense lead or connection
• A corroded pin in the X circuit connector
• A weak cell at the X voltage tap
• A sense module input fault on the X channel

What to do next

1. Read the X circuit voltage on a scan tool
2. Compare the X tap reading to its neighbors
3. Inspect the X sense lead and connector for corrosion
4. Measure resistance through the X circuit
5. Replace the sense module if the X channel reads low
6. Clear the code and retest
